Press the record button and your FS10 starts recording video faster than you’ve ever seen before. The FS10’s lower power consumption rate allows your battery to last longer. Measuring only 2.3″ wide, 2.4″ high and 4.9″ deep, it combines big video storage capacity in a small, easy to carry body. The 2.7″ High-Resolution Widescreen LCD on the FS10 lets you see more of what your camcorder is recording. Designed specifically for HD, DIGIC DV II ensures optimal image quality. It also uses a hybrid noise reduction system that employs two types of noise reduction for video images that are crystal clear. You can shoot five 1152 x 648 still images per second, and enjoy faster processing of your images to both the FS11’s internal memory as well your memory card. It also helps lower power consumption for longer battery life. The Genuine Canon 48x Advanced Zoom remains in constant motion through the entire extended zoom range. Customer Review: Great solid state camera.
This is exactly what we were looking for. We were tired of mechanical camcorders that eventually break down and tapes that fail. The Canon is small, lightweight, and the battery lasts a long time. I added a second 8GB memory chip and we have hours of video between dumps to my computer. I haven’t tried editing the video files yet and will add that review later.
Customer Review: Totally Satisfactory for My Needs
I bought this as a replacement for my Sony MiniDV camcorder. The video quality is roughly the same using the default settings. However, because I can adjust many more settings on this, I end up shooting better video than I could have with the Sony.

I also like the smaller size (you have to see this to believe it) and the flash memory (no moving parts equals faster response and longer battery life).

I mostly use the camcorder for filming my kids and then uploading it for my parents to watch (they live overseas). It’s perfect for that. I download the video to my MacBook Pro, edit in iMovie 08, and then publish to my MobileMe Gallery. It’s a very fast and easy process.

Oh, and finally, I loved the price! All this for only $385.00.

I’ve owned this camcorder for 6 weeks and taken quite a few hours of video and so far can’t think of anything I don’t like about it.

Customer Review: GREAT ALL AROUND CAMCORDER!
I bought this camcorder to make some fundraising movies for my 3 day breast cancer walk. It has been SO easy to use, and to create some GREAT looking videos. I took it out of the box, and shot some video then plugged it into my VISTA laptop and downloaded the video in about 3 minutes… Great for a first or casual user. Has some nice options like widescreen and SD card for still photos. The light only works very close up but is a nice option if you are interviewing someone at night. All in all I couldn’t be happier with this camera, and the price is AMAZING for the features you get… (lots of USEABLE features without all the useless bells and whistles that the $$$$$$ cameras have – that you never use anyhow) If something were to happen to this camera I would replace it with another zr850… The only thing I wish it had was a mic jack… but the built in mic does a fantastic job… see some video made with this camera at www.myspace/adels3day.com
Customer Review: ZR850 Excellent Value
I had a ZR200 Canon that I take everywhere. It was easy to use so after many hundreds of hours of filming sports events etc. it died. I didn’t want to spend thousands of dollars so I purchased this for about the same price I would have had to fix my old camera. This is an excellent camera expecially for price. Excellent Buy! I recommend this without any reservation. You can’t go wrong!!

The 2007-2012 Outlook for Analog Camcorders in Greater China
This study covers the latent demand outlook for analog camcorders across the regions of Greater China, including provinces, autonomous regions (Guangxi, Nei Mongol, Ningxia, Xinjiang, Xizang – Tibet), municipalities (Beijing, Chongqing, Shanghai, and Tianjin), special administrative regions (Hong Kong and Macau), and Taiwan (all hereafter referred to as regions ). Latent demand (in millions of U.S. dollars), or potential industry earnings (P.I.E.) estimates are given across some 1,100 cities in Greater China. For each major city in question, the percent share the city is of the region and of Greater China is reported. Each major city is defined as an area of economic population , as opposed to the demographic population within a legal geographic boundary. For many cities, the economic population is much larger that the population within the city limits; this is especially true for the cities of the Western regions. For the coastal regions, cities which are close to other major cities or which represent, by themselves, a high percent of the regional population, actual city-level population is closer to the economic population (e.g. in Beijing). Based on this economic definition of population, comparative benchmarks allow the reader to quickly gauge a city s marketing and distribution value vis- -vis others. This exercise is quite useful for persons setting up distribution centers or sales force strategies. Using econometric models which project fundamental economic dynamics within each region and city of influence, latent demand estimates are created for analog camcorders. This report does not discuss the specific players in the market serving the latent demand, nor specific details at the product level. The study also does not consider short-term cyclicalities that might affect realized sales. The study, therefore, is strategic in nature, taking an aggregate and long-run view, irrespective of the players or products involved.

Customer Review: JVC MG330
I just bought a JVC MG330 and have to say that I am disappointed. Not in the video or picture quality, but in the downright feeble insistence on giving the video files a .mod extension, even though the clips are compatible with MPEG. The problem is that no video editor I have on file – and that are four – recognizes the extension. Nor do many of the Internet video delivery services. In other words I cannot edit the videos which I need for instructional purposes and have to buy a separate program that re-encodes the video, thereby losing quality. Despite its video quality, the camera is of no use to me. For anything in this world I cannot imagine why any manufacturer would limit its product artificially, a marketing decision that can only have been made by someone with an IQ of a ground worm.
Customer Review: Easy to use.
I’m not a techie, so this very easy camcorder is perfect for me. Turn on- point and shoot, takes great pictures. I need something that makes it easy or I won’t use it.

A Teacher’s Use Of Digital Video With Urban Middle School Students: Expanding Definitions Of Representational Literacy: An article from: The Teacher Educator
The role of educational technology as media is rapidly expanding. When placed directly into the hands of students, digital video, in particular, has the potential to transform schooling. In this case study, members of the Naptown Prodigy, an after school club, produced music videos and iMovies of streetballperformances. The club’s advisor, an urban middle school English teacher, participated in the PT3 Vanguard program, a university-public school staff development collaboration. The teacher’s access to technology through the Vanguard program enabled her students to use digital video as both a construction and expression medium. This project provides a unique and promising example of the ways in which teachers can use digital video to foster representational literacy among inner-city youth.
